In a recently available Cosmopolitan interview, plus-size model Ashley Graham was frank about her disappointment about the controversy between comedian Amy Schumer and Glamour back Apr. After Glamour included 35-year-old Schumer in its "Chic at Any Size" concern, Schumer slammed the mag on Instagram for lumping her along with the "plus-size" group.
"I could see both factors, but Amy discusses being a huge girl on the market," 26-year-old Graham advised Cosmo. "You prosper on being a major girl, however when you're grouped in around, you are not happy about any of it? That, if you ask me, felt such as a dual standard." Graham, who embraces her curves but eschews the word "plus size," added, "I'm offering curvy women a couch at a desk that we've never been asked to before -- a desk with high-end fashion individuals who have never considered us beautiful."
Schumer responded online, defusing the problem with Graham on Tweets. "I totally understand Ashley's emotions. I don't group myself within her because she actually is unbelievably beautiful. Only respect on her behalf," said the within Amy Schumer legend, who has generated a loyal group of fans with the funny and compassionate ways she assumes cultural issues both on / off screen.

Graham extended an olive branch back to Schumer by tweeting, “I have the greatest respect for @amyschumer! So glad to be able to exchange thoughts, ideas & opinions w/ another incredible female force.” Fans were loving the fact that two strong, empowered women could disagree but were mature enough to respect each other’s feelings on a social platform that typically sparks ugly, headline-making feuds. One user even joked, “You’re doing Twitter wrong. You’re supposed to insult each other.”
Back in April, Schumer took Glamour to task for implying that she’s plus size. “I think there’s nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8…Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous.”
Some social people found it ironic, since Schumer's relatable schtick often involves making light to the fact that she's not really a stick figure, but instead a genuine woman with a genuine body who is actually in the spotlight. And Graham, the first plus-size model to grace the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, is not a stranger to the body-confidence dialogue either. Actually, the scale 14 bombshell told Individuals who she foretells her own curves to improve her self-esteem literally!
"I still have mornings I awaken and feel fat or Personally i think my cellulite is absolutely kicking that day," she said. "I must look myself in the mirror, and I take my very own advice and I speak to those different parts."
Together, both of these fierce females are a potent force to be reckoned with. Only if all public conflicts could be handled with such confidence and class.
